Energy Requirement

The energy requirement of soap drying depends on the kind of drying process and the drying degree of the final product.

Vacuum driers need cooling water for condensation of withdrawn water and steam in case of higher cooling water temperatures, for vapor compression needed then.

When using the vapor extraction patented by SELA, the motive steam being required for operation of the steam ejector is not necessary. Then the steam ejector is operated with the vapor being separated from the soap, as already described in section "vapor extraction". For condensation of the vapor quantity in the condenser cooling water is required.

Atmospheric plants require cooling water for the chill roll. Heating steam is needed as well for the heat exchangers of the drying system and the smoothing roll of the chill roll. For operation of the plodder and the chill roll electrical energy and cooling water are required.

Indications of following tables are standard values for usual conditions and do not represent any guarantee values.
